The Ballet Schools offer classes in classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Pointework for both Adults and children. These classes are held in the West Lothian towns of Linlithgow, Bellsquarry and Murieston.
Our school year operates over four terms where, alongside our weekly classes, we hold open days, parents evenings, masterclasses with visiting choreographers, Scottish Ballet workshops, demonstration classes, Annual Performances, choreographic competitions and weekly Junior Associates training. During the course of our dance year, selected students are entered for National events and auditions such as RAD Junior Awards, RAD Senior Awards, Scottish Ballet Junior Associate Schemes and The Dance Schools of Scotland regional auditions this is of course at the directors discretion and in accordance with parents wishes.
If we could tell every parent how important dance/movement is for the development of their child: running, jumping, turning, sliding, leaping, swinging, stretching, the benefits are both intellectual and physical. Everyone boy, girl and adult dancer matters to The Ballet Schools hugely and we wouldn’t be much of a dance school if that wasn’t the case. We are extremely passionate about what we do- about The Ballet Schools itself of course, but we are also passionate about helping every single person that comes through our doors to discover the excitement and the joy of performing. Hopefully one day soon dance will become part of the Scottish Academic curriculum, then all children can acquire the physical skills and sense of achievement that dance brings to enable them to lead healthy active lives.
We are pleased to offer parents the choice of examination streams and non-examination options for Boys and girls. Our syllabus is fully in accordance with Royal Academy of Dance, London (Classical Ballet, Character Dance and Pointework) Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
